Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine melted unsalted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar, mixing until smooth.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.

Dry Mixing

  • In another bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, folding gently to combine.
  • Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.

Baking

  • Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Sprinkle a pinch of flaky sea salt on top of each cookie.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the tops are crinkly and shiny.
  • Allow to cool before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For added texture, consider adding nuts such as walnuts or pecans. You can chill the dough for 30 minutes if it spreads too much while baking. Store cookies in an airtight container.
