Filling Ingredients

  • 2 medium apples Peeled, cored, and diced (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp recommended)
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce Store-bought or homemade
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Roll out the refrigerated pie crust on a floured surface and cut into four-inch squares.

Mixing the Filling

  • In a medium bowl, combine the diced apples, caramel sauce, ground cinnamon, and sugar. Stir until coated.
  • Set the mixture aside to allow flavors to meld.

Filling and Shaping

  • Spoon the apple-caramel mixture into the center of each dough square, being careful not to overfill.
  • Fold the corners of the dough over the filling and pinch the edges to seal.

Baking

  • Place the filled bombs on a parchment-lined baking sheet and brush the tops with the egg wash.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serving warm with vanilla ice cream enhances the taste. Consider adding lemon juice to apples to prevent browning and enhance brightness.
