Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a skillet over medium heat, add 1 pound of ground beef and 1 diced medium onion. Cook until the beef is browned and the onions are softened, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine 10.5 ounces of cream of mushroom soup and 1 cup of milk. Mix until smooth, then add the cooked beef and onion. Season with salt and pepper, and mix well.
  • Grease a baking dish and layer 24 ounces of frozen French fries at the bottom.
  • Pour the beef and sauce mixture over the fries. Top with 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese.

Baking

  • Bake for 30-35 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Remove from the oven and let sit for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For variations, you can use ground turkey instead of beef, different types of cheese, or add toppings like green onions or pickles. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days in the refrigerator.
