Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Melt the unsalted butter in a saucepan over medium heat until golden brown and nutty, about 5-7 minutes.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar, granulated sugar, and the warm butter. Mix until creamy.
  • Add in the eggs and vanilla, whisking until smooth.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a lined baking sheet, spacing them out adequately.
  • Sprinkle a pinch of flaky sea salt on top of each cookie mound before baking.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden brown. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Measure flour accurately to avoid dry cookies. For a richer flavor, refrigerate dough for 30 minutes before baking. Experiment with chocolate types or add nuts for variety.
