Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
  • Stir in the melted butter into the mashed bananas.
  • Mix in the baking soda and salt.
  • Stir in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Gradually add the flour, folding it into the mixture until just combined—avoid overmixing.
  • Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Pour the batter into a greased 4×8 inch loaf pan.
  • Bake for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Allow it to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
