For the dough

  • 3 ½ to 4 cups all-purpose flour Creates the soft, fluffy texture.

For the filling

  • ½ cup softened cream cheese Provides a creamy base.
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed Creates sweet-spicy swirl.
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon Essential spice for flavor.
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips Provides bursts of sweetness.
  • ½ cup crushed cookies (like Oreos) Adds crunch.

For the icing

  • 1 cup powdered sugar For the icing.
  • 2-3 tablespoons milk (for icing) To achieve desired consistency.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 3 ½ cups of flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
  • In another bowl, mix warm milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract until blended.
  • Gradually pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring continuously to form a sticky dough.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Place dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Filling and Shaping

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll the risen dough into a large rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  • Spread softened cream cheese over the rolled-out dough.
  • Combine brown sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle evenly over the cream cheese.
  • Sprinkle mini chocolate chips and crushed cookies evenly.
  • Roll the dough tightly from one end to the other and pinch the seam to seal.
  • Cut the log into approximately 1.5-inch thick slices and place in a greased baking dish.
  • Cover and let the rolls rise for another 30 minutes.

Baking

  • Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  • While the rolls cool slightly, prepare the icing by mixing cream cheese, powdered sugar, and milk until smooth.
  • Drizzle icing over warm rolls and, if desired, top with extra cookie crumbles.

Notes

Make sure ingredients are at the right temperature for best results. Roll the dough tightly for even baking.
