  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) and gather your tools: a mixing bowl, an electric mixer, and a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • In a clean mixing bowl, whip the egg whites on medium speed until large bubbles form, about 1 minute.
  • Gradually add the granulated sugar while continuing to whip until smaller bubbles form and the egg whites are fluffy.
  • Gently fold in the softened cream cheese until just combined, ensuring no lumps remain.
  • Sprinkle in the baking powder and add a pinch of salt if desired.
  • Pour the mixture onto the lined baking sheet and shape it into a loaf or mound.
  • Bake for around 25 minutes or until golden and slightly firm on the outside.
  • Allow to cool for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For best results, use room temperature egg whites. Experiment with flavors like garlic powder for a savory version or vanilla for a sweet treat. Store in an airtight container for up to three days or freeze for a month.
