Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine fresh cranberries and sliced apples, then toss with granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Spread evenly in the greased baking dish.
  • In a separate bowl, combine rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, and salt. Add the butter and rub into the dry ingredients until crumbly. Sprinkle over the fruit mixture.
  • Bake for about 45 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the fruit is bubbling. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For added flavor, include a splash of vanilla or a drizzle of maple syrup. Experiment with different apples and consider adding nuts for a variation. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
