Preparation

  • Divide the mixture into 6-8 equal portions and shape into round, flattened patties about 0.5 to 0.75 inches thick.
  • Place the patties on a parchment-lined tray and refrigerate for 15-30 minutes.

Cooking

  • Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Once hot, gently place the chilled patties in the skillet, frying in batches for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) before removing.
  • Transfer the cooked patties to paper towels to drain excess oil before serving.

Notes

For added flavor, consider incorporating spices like paprika or cayenne pepper. You can bake the patties in the oven at 400°F (200°C) for a healthier version.
