Main Ingredients

  • 8 oz Whole wheat elbow macaroni Base for the dish
  • 1 lb Lean ground beef Source of protein
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder Aromatic and flavorful
  • 1 tsp Onion powder Adds depth to the dish
  • 1 tsp Salt Essential seasoning
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper Essential seasoning

  • 4 cups Fresh spinach Nutritional boost
  • 1 cup Beef broth Flavors the dish
  • 1 cup Shredded cheddar cheese Creamy, indulgent finish
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce Adds umami flavor

Instructions

Preparation

  • Begin by boiling a large pot of water. Once boiling, add the whole wheat elbow macaroni and cook according to package directions until al dente, usually around 8 to 10 minutes. After cooked, drain it and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, heat a bit of water or cooking spray over medium heat. Add the pound of lean ground beef, breaking it up as it cooks. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper, cooking until no pink remains (about 5 to 7 minutes).
  • Add the diced tomatoes and chopped spinach to the skillet and stir, cooking for about 3 to 4 minutes until the tomatoes soften and spinach wilts.
  • Pour in the beef broth and add the cooked macaroni, stirring to combine. Finally, sprinkle in the shredded cheddar cheese and Worcestershire sauce, mixing until the cheese melts and creates a creamy sauce.

Notes

Achieve the perfect version of this dish by adding vegetables based on tastes, like mushrooms or zucchini. For a spicy version, consider adding red pepper flakes.
