Preparation

  • Begin by heating a large skillet over medium heat. Add 1 pound of ground beef into the skillet, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  • Once fully cooked and browned, drain any excess fat to maintain balance.
  • Stir in 1/4 cup of soy sauce and 2 tablespoons of brown sugar, allowing the sugar to dissolve while mixing.
  • Mix in 1 tablespoon of sesame oil, 2 cloves of minced garlic, and 1 teaspoon of grated ginger. Simmer for 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Cook rice according to package instructions.
  • Serve over rice, garnishing with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

For a variation, substitute ground beef with ground turkey or a plant-based protein. Adding vegetables like bell peppers or broccoli could enhance both flavor and nutrition.
