  • 4 pieces burger buns Preferably brioche for a buttery finish.
  • 4 slices cheese American, cheddar, or Swiss.

  • to taste onions Provides freshness.

Secret Sauce

  • to taste mayo, ketchup, mustard blend, or your favorite condiments Adds a layer of flavor and complexity.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Divide the ground beef into four equal ¼ pound portions and form them loosely into balls.
  • Season each beef ball generously with salt and freshly cracked black pepper.

Cooking

  • Place each ball onto the hot grill or skillet, pressing down firmly to flatten into patties.
  • Cook the patties for about three minutes on one side, then flip and add cheese.
  • Cover to melt the cheese while toasting the burger buns on the grill simultaneously.

Assembly

  • Assemble the burgers by adding the secret sauce and your choice of toppings.
  • Serve hot and enjoy.

Notes

For the best crust, avoid pressing down on the patties after smashing. For variations, try different cheeses or toppings. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to three days or frozen for three months.
